Een veel gestelde vraag. En alle keuzes zijn juist: het hangt maar af van de situatie. Moet het naar de drukker zonder eerst in InDesign te komen? Heb je complexe dingen met transparantie gedaan? Moet het naar een snijplotter om in (plak)folie te worden uitgesneden? Bewaar in ieder geval een origineel in ai-formaat. Zorg er voor dat je ontwerp dan \u00f3\u00f3k in diezelfde RGB-modus staat, voordat je verder gaat. Soms blijkt namelijk dat een ontwerp in RGB er op details anders uitziet dan in CMYK. Daarover straks meer. Wanneer je al was begonnen in CMYK, kun je via het bestandsmenu de documentkleurmodus omzetten naar RGB (mag natuurlijk ook in een kopie van het ontwerp). Als er geen gekke kleurveranderingen zijn opgetreden, kun je verder gaan met de opdracht Bestand, Opslaan voor Web en apparaten. In het dialoogvenster dat volgt, kun je kiezen voor Gif, of Jpeg als basis. De grootte van je pagina of tekengebied bepaalt de grootte van je exportbestand in pixels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Gif ondersteunt transparantie, maar op een lelijke manier: de kleur aan de buitenkant van je ontwerp loopt naar wit weg, terwijl de achtergrond van je website misschien niet wit is. Dan hou je nog steeds een vervelend wit randje over. Gif is eigenlijk wat ouderwets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Jpeg is een algemeen geaccepteerde standaard voor het web. De bestanden worden w\u00e8l in een lage resolutie opgeslagen; als je hoge resolutie wil, kun je beter exporteren naar Jpeg. Maar dit bestandsformaat ondersteunt g\u00e9\u00e9n transparantie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interessant alternatief is Png-24: deze houdt de kleurovergangen mooi zoals bij een jPeg, en ondersteunt bovendien transparantie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Als alternatief voor Gif kun je eventueel kiezen voor een Png-8: de overgangen naar de achtergrond van de webpagina zijn aan de buitenkant van je object iets mooier dan bij een Gif, maar subtiele transparantie wordt lelijk omgerekend. Gif en Png-8 kunnen alleen werken bij eenvoudige pictogrammen met vlakke kleuren.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">RGB of CMYK<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Da\u2019s eigenlijk wel een interessante kwestie. Normaal gesproken zeg ik dat je in CMYK ontwerpen moet als je iets wil maken voor drukwerk. Maar sommige ontwerpen zijn makkelijker te maken in RGB. Dan heb ik het voornamelijk over transparantiekeuzes. Of je nou vanuit Illustrator bewaart als PDF, of dat je dat klusje overlaat aan InDesign: dat maakt voor je drukker niets uit.<br>Als je in Illustrator een beeld eerst maakt in RGB, heb je op het aspect van transparantie meer mogelijkheden. Maar de omzetting naar CMYK voor drukwerk gaat niet altijd goed: je ziet het verschil soms meteen al, wanneer je de kleurmodus omzet naar CMYK binnen Illustrator. Je kunt dan beter bewaren in EPS formaat. Dat EPS-bestand kun je plaatsen in InDesign, en verder omzetten naar een goed PDF bestand.<br><strong>Voordeel van EPS:<\/strong> InDesign hoeft zelf niet meer te rekenen met de transparantie, en zal daar dus ook geen fouten meer mee maken.<br><em>Belangrijk<\/em>: let er bij het bewaren van EPS w\u00e8l op dat de afvlakinstellingen (je hebt immers transparantie gebruikt) niet op Aangepast of Normaal staan, maar op <strong>Hoge Resolutie<\/strong>. InDesign kan het EPS dan met voldoende pixels indien van toepassing doorvoeren in het PDF. Soms is EPS\u00a0beter.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Denk er om dat als je bewaart in EPS, dat je dan de voorinstelling voor transparantie-afvlakker instelt op hoge kwaliteit.Ontwerp je in RGB, dan moet je ook niet te veel wensen hebben over precieze controle van drukkleuren: je kunt niet een object maken in bijvoorbeeld 50%cyaan en 75%magenta. Tekst in grijstonen gemaakt, kan uitgevoerd worden als tekst die met enkel zwart wordt gereproduceerd.<br><strong>Nadeel van EPS<\/strong>: er kan geen kleurmenging meer plaats vinden tussen de transparante delen van je Illustrator-bestand en je achtergrond van InDesign. Als je ontwerp vanuit Illustrator direct naar de drukker kan (zonder tussenstop in InDesign) dan kun je ook bewaren in PDF-formaat. Kies daarbij wel voor een PDFx1a-standaard als je zonder gedoe wil aanleveren. Het is wel een wat ouder formaat, maar drukkers die niet goed overweg kunnen met transparantie hebben hier een fijner bestand aan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Als je hebt ontworpen in CMYK, dan kun je je bestand ook wel bewaren in AI-formaat. Dan blijven je transparante onderdelen nog doorschijnend, en verandert er ook niets richting drukwerk. Een AI-bestand kan een stuk kleiner in bestandsgrootte zijn dan een EPS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hieronder nog een vergelijk tussen een RGB ontwerp als AI bewaard (links), en hetzelfde ontwerp bewaard als EPS (rechts). Beide zijn geplaatst in InDesign, je ziet de drukwerksimulatie. Wanneer InDesign het RGB-AI ontwerp zelf naar CMYK omzet, maakt ie er een \u2018potje\u2019 van. Een EPS bewaren vanuit Illustrator is dan beter. De afmetingen van de illustratie nemen in dit geval wat toe, omdat de delen buiten het tekengebied dan \u00f3\u00f3k zichtbaar worden.
